Liquid-liquid extraction and absorption: Interest of liquid-liquid extraction and absorption for separation/depolution in chemical processes. Be able to design a liquid-liquid extraction and an absorption unit in different configurations. Liquid-liquid extraction: - read an ternary equilibrium on a triangular diagram - design a liquid-liquid extraction in batch, co-current, cross currents, counter-current configurations (number of theoretical plates, flows of solvent, extraction efficiency, extraction selectivity) - read a ternary equilibrium in a 2D diagram. Absorption: - plot the ternary equilibrium from the Henry constant and with the acceleration factor linked to chemical absorption - design an absorption unit in counter currents (flows of solvent, efficiency, number of theoretical plates.
